Terravesta has opened a new office on the Aberystwyth University campus, in the ‘AberInnovation’ centre.

The move will see the long-standing relationship between Terravesta and the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) go from strength to strength.

Dr. Rhian Hayward MBE, Chief Executive Officer for Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus is positive about the strategic decision. “I am delighted to welcome Terravesta to the AberInnovation community of companies.

“Terravesta is a long-time collaborator in research and development with Aberystwyth University. The move to occupy offices on the Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus development at Gogerddan sets the scene for a broadening and deepening of our strategic relationship and promises yet more innovation for the future in Miscanthus breeding and utilisation,” she says.

Terravesta believes the new office is a crucial move and underlines the company’s commitment to research and development in the area of plant breeding.

“Working with IBERS has been key to Terravesta’s continued mission. Linking world class plant breeding and science and innovation with industry and growing end-markets is crucial to meeting carbon targets,” says Sam Buckby, Terravesta R&D manager.

“We look forward to using our office and also working closely with the newly announced head of IBERS – Professor Ian Donnison, who we are confident will continue to build on the department’s fantastic global reputation and we wish him every success in the new role,” adds Sam.
