Terravesta has announced a best-ever price for Miscanthus, offering growers £70/tonne for 2013-2014 contracts.

This new price is specifically offered to growers committing to five- to ten-year contracts with Terravesta, which are RPIX-linked to offer farmers long-term security. Today’s announcement confirms that prices of the energy crop have reached an all-time high – and experts from the company are urging both existing and new growers to make the most of the growing commercial opportunity at hand.

“There has never been a better profit potential for Miscanthus growers, so now is the time to maximise the opportunity presented by this remarkable energy crop,” says William Cracroft-Eley, Terravesta chairman. “By offering long-term index-linked contracts, we at Terravesta are providing farmers with the added benefit of future confidence in an already strong market.

“Government support for renewable energy continues to raise the profile of sustainable sources like biomass, and with ever-increasing demand from end-users fuelling even further market growth, farmers signing contacts in 2013 are set to reap the rewards long into the future.”

Terravesta is committed to helping growers get the most out of Miscanthus at every stage of the process – from starting out right through to sale to end-users. Following today’s announcement, 2013/2014 contracts are now available.
