Farmers wanting to learn more about cropping benefits and markets for Miscanthus are invited to participate in the ‘Field to Furnace’ week, taking place between 13 – 17 May 2024.
The programme of events includes farm walks, Snetterton Renewable Energy Power Station tours, and personalised visits to Miscanthus crops in the area.
“More farmers are seeing the benefits of perennial energy crops such as Miscanthus, especially after this wet winter which saw a host of crops affected by waterlogging.
“Miscanthus can not only thrive in these conditions, but it also adds a host of benefits, including carbon storage of 2.35 tonnes of CO2e per hectare, per year, as it grows, biodiversity, and soil stability, and a reliable annual income,” explains Mark Coleman, Terravesta’s customer account manager.
